How does celox work? ▼

Essentially, celox is an innovative new hemostat made to bond with specific sites which are present on the surface of red blood cells and platelets to make a gel like clot /plug. This process is totally different from the body’s normal clotting mechanisms. Anticoagulants such as heparin and warfarin (often sold as Coumadin) can interfere with the body’s normal clotting process. They often delay blood clotting times. Hyperthermia is also well known to delay clotting. As Celox™ works independently of the normal clotting process, its clotting ability is not affected by the presence of anticoagulants or by cold temperature. Laboratory testing has confirmed that Celox™ quickly clots blood containing heparin or warfarin (Coumadin). It has also shown that Celox™ also quickly clots blood which has been cooled to simulate hypothermia.

This is a sterile, single use applicator filled with celox haemostatic granules, made for fast control of severe bleeding, especially in the case of a knife, bullet or any other type of penetrating wound.

This celox applicator is perfect for trained professionals such as first responders, military personnel, or industrial first aiders when handling penetrating trauma.​ It is a perfect addition to a first aid kit, or a bleed control kit.

How quickly does celox control bleeding? ▼

Celox granules are known for stopping bleeding in as little as one minute. For major bleeds, it is recommended to apply pressure for 3-5 minutes to ensure effective bleed control.

Is removal of Celox granules simple? ▼

Haemostatic granules can be removed quickly and easily during surgical procedures without causing any additional tissue damage.​
