What first aid kit does a hotel need?

A hotel should provide HSE-compliant workplace first aid kits sized to the number of staff and the level of risk, with additional kits for kitchens, pools and larger sites. Most small hotels start with a 1-10 or 1-20 person kit per area.

Are hotels legally required to have first aid supplies?

Yes. Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, all UK employers including hotels and accommodation providers must provide adequate first aid equipment, facilities and trained personnel for their staff.

What should be in a hotel first aid kit?

A hotel first aid kit should include dressings, bandages, plasters, eye wash, gloves and adhesive tape, alongside hygiene items such as hand sanitiser. Kitchen areas should also carry burns dressings.
