Description

Ticks are relatively common to come across, particularly if you're adventuring in a warm and humid climate. If you have a tick, you need to remove it promptly and remove all parts of its body. This credit card and key-ring sized, tick removal tool will fit easily in your wallet and features a magnifying lens and two different sized removal tools for different sized ticks.

Lyme disease (transmitted via ticks) has become an increasing problem in Europe. Although preventative measures can be taken, occasionally ticks will attach themselves to you. This tick remover card has been designed to ensure that the whole tick is removed safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this tool include? ▼

This compact tick removal tool is a credit card sized (packed 54 x 36 x 1mm) tool with tick removers in two hook sizes, and an inbuilt magnifying lens. For a larger formatted card option, we recommend the tick remover card.

How does the magnifying lens help? ▼

The inbuilt magnifying lens helps to improve visualisation of the tick’s mouthparts, helping you to place the hook correctly, and minimise the chance of squeezing the tick during removal.

Is this tick removal tool suitable for all tick sizes? ▼

This tick removal card has two removal sizes that should cover most ticks; very large or deeply engorged ticks may need fine tick tweezers for a more secure removal.

Can it be cleaned and reused? ▼

The tick remover tool can be cleaned with a sterile wipe after use, and should be stored in a cool, dry place to air dry before reusing.

How quickly should ticks be removed? ▼

It is highly recommended to remove ticks quickly, as early removal lowers the risk of infection. If attached for over ~36 hours or if rash/fever develops, you should seek clinical advice. Consider prevention with tick repellent spray.

What if I cannot remove the whole tick? ▼

If mouthparts become disconnected to the body during removal, avoid digging it any further. Clean the area, monitor for any signs of infection, and contact a GP or professional for further assessment.
