What first aid kit do I need for a construction site?

Construction sites are classed as higher-risk, so the HSE recommends a BS 8599-1 compliant first aid kit sized to your workforce. As a general guide a small site of fewer than five workers needs at least a small kit, 5 to 25 workers a medium kit, and 25 or more workers one or more large kits, with additional provision based on your risk assessment.

Are eye wash stations a legal requirement on construction sites?

Where workers are exposed to dust, debris, chemicals or other eye hazards and mains tap water is not readily available, employers must provide sterile eye wash. Wall-mounted eye wash stations and single-use pods are a practical way to meet this requirement on site.

What should be in a construction first aid kit?

Beyond the standard BS 8599-1 contents such as dressings, bandages, plasters, gloves and wipes, construction kits often add eye wash, burns dressings, foil blankets and a trauma or bleed control element to deal with the more serious injuries common on building sites.

First aid kits and safety supplies built for the construction industry. Building and construction sites are high-risk workplaces, with hazards ranging from cuts, crush injuries and falls to dust, debris and eye injuries. Having the right first aid provision on site isn't just good practice - it's a legal requirement under UK health and safety law.

At Jax First Aid we've put together a complete range of construction site first aid supplies to help you stay compliant and keep your crew protected. Shop HSE and BS 8599-1 workplace first aid kits sized for your team, eye wash pods and wall-mounted eye wash stations for dust and debris injuries, burns dressings, wound cleansing wipes, foil blankets, disposable gloves, first aid wall cabinets, hi-vis vests and site safety signage. For larger or remote sites, consider a defibrillator and a trauma or bleed control kit for serious incidents.

The number and size of kits you need depends on your workforce size, site layout and risk assessment. As a guide, higher-risk environments like construction need more comprehensive provision than a low-risk office. All orders ship fast across the UK, with bulk discounts, purchase orders and instant credit available for contractors, builders and site managers.
