Description

100% Cotton gauze swabs. BP. The gauze pad cushions and protects a wound, preventing dryness from developing prematurely. Do not place the gauze pads directly onto a wound as they may stick. However, they do allow blood and fluids to pass through and be absorbed. Reliswab can also be used to clean areas around the wound site.

Reliswab gauze swabs are made from 100% cotton of BP (British Pharmacopoeia) quality, which gives optimal high absorbency and softness, suitable for wound care.

These gauze swabs are available in 3 sizes, 5 cm x 5 cm, 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm, and 10 cm x 10 cm pads, each size being supplied in a box of 100.

Are these swabs suitable for direct application to open wounds? ▼

Reliswab swabs are made to cushion or clean the area around a wound. They should not be pressed directly onto open wounds, as cotton fibres can adhere to healing tissue.

What wound care tasks are gauze swabs for? ▼

Gauze swabs are suitable for cleaning skin around wounds, absorbing blood or exudate, and creating a soft, absorbing cushion under dressings. They are a great choice for minor cuts, grazes and abrasions. For more serious and traumatic wounds, we recommend Celox gauze.

How do I know these swabs meet acceptable medical-grade fabric standards? ▼

These gauze swabs are made from BP-grade cotton. The cotton gauze fabric design follows the type of standards of BS EN 14079:2003, which sets out performance requirements for absorbent cotton gauze used in dressings.
