Description
Through championing change and pioneering product innovation, we are proud to have introduced the world’s first sustainable single-use sharps container into the market.
The 2 Litre is designed to be used in conjunction with the Sharpsafe Tray to form an integral part of the Sharpsafe Near Patient Sharps Disposal System (NPSD).
The large aperture allows the safe and easy disposal of needles and syringes and a clear internal flap offers added protection.
A translucent lid with clearly visible fill line and inkjet printed waste segregation message help ensure the product is not overfilled.
Our Sharps containers are specifically designed to enable the safe disposal of clinical sharps and minimise the risk of associated injuries.
The design of our products demonstrates our purposely designed features to ensure the safety of our users.
Our four audible clicks feature confirms that the lid and base are assembled securely and are safe for use.
The temporary and final closure feature provides reassurance when the container is in use and that no further waste can be added once the final closure is activated preventing any potential spillages and overfilling.
The containers are designed with a strong rigid body and made from robust, high-quality recycled material that prevents sharps penetration through the wall of the container.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size is this yellow sharps bin and what disposal capacity does it have?
This yellow sharps bin holds a 2 litre capacity, and has a maximum fill line to warn the user when the bin is in need of being disposed of. The wide aperture and internal safety flap allow for simple, secure disposal of needles, syringes and sharps.
What do sharps bin colours signify?
The sharps bin colours scheme follows UK clinical waste guidelines, of which the yellow lid signifies medicinal sharps, while the grey base offers strong, puncture proof design. The semi-transparent lid shows the fill line visibly, which helps to prevent overfilling the sharps bin.
Does this yellow sharps bin comply with UK and UN regulations?
This sharps bin is made to meet UN 3291, ISO 23907, and UK HTM 07‑01 clinical waste safety standards. The sharps bin also has a temporary and permanent locking mechanism to allow for secure disposal.
How do I securely lock the bin and prevent spills?
Simply follow the four-click lid-base locking process until it clicks: first for temporary closure during use, then activate final closure once full. This system ensures the aperture seals irreversibly—preventing spills just like our competitors' models.
What should I do if the sharps bin is too full or becomes overfilled?
It is highly advised to stop using the sharps bin once contents reach the visible fill line on the translucent lid. Once filled to that line, activate the final lock immediately. Overfilling risks needlestick injuries. If you require a higher capacity, consider upgrading to a 5 litre sharps bin.
