The SWAT-T™ Tourniquet, part of Combat Medical Systems’ MARCH™ Medical Gear, was designed specifically for military and civilian Special Weapons and Tactics Teams, but also has benefits in all areas of pre-hospital care. Its name states the description for use Stretch, Wrap, And Tuck.

The SWAT-T™ is rugged and has been tested in and out of packaging. Its shelf life has been extended to 7 years, due to new bagging that offers UV resistance. It is biocompatibility tested and is latex free.

The SWAT‑T tourniquet is a non‑latex, highly sterile, disposable elastic band made for instant severe bleeding control using a “Stretch, Wrap, Tuck” method. It is CE/UKCA compliant, has a shelf life of up to 7 years, can stay secure when wet or dry, and can be used for military, EMS, workplace, and civilian settings and environments, allowing for a versatile usage range.

How do I use the SWAT-T tourniquet? ▼

To use the SWAT-T tourniquet in a severe bleeding emergency, begin by positioning the tourniquet approx. 5 cm above the wound, stretch the band, and wrap firmly crossing printed tension guides. After that, tuck the end underneath the band. Allow arterial occlusion by turning ovals into circles. After the tourniquet has been used, it should be disposed of immediately.

Can the SWAT-T tourniquet be used wet or in extreme temperatures? ▼

This tourniquet is able to stay highly secure when either wet or blood soaked, and has passed lengthy durability tests in boiling water as well as sub‑zero (−53 °C) environments. The tourniquet is also highly resistant to UV and abrasion.

How long is the SWAT-T shelf life and what are the storage requirements? ▼

This tourniquet has an optimal shelf life of up to 7 years. When not in use, it should be stored in an ambient, dry, cool environment to keep the best level of hygiene, sterility and integrity.

Do I need specialist training to use the SWAT-T? ▼
